Luca Tani is a local recruit to the Giltinis, hailing from Santa Cruz in California. The lock played a range of sports growing up, including wrestling and water polo. Tani played for the SIlicon Valley RFC in the 2015-16 season and has continued to progress in his rugby from there. After his Silicon Valley stint, Tani played for the San Francisco Golden Gate Rugby Club, featuring in the D2 competition, also going on to play in the Pacific Rugby Premiership. Tani has paused his Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training to be a firefighter to take this chance at the Giltinis.
