Adam Freier, General Manager
Giltinis General Manager Adam Freier has been immersed in rugby at every level across more than two decades.
He brings to the job a unique skill set and perspective.
As a hooker, he played at the highest level in 25 Tests for the Wallabies, including the 2007 Rugby World Cup, and in more than 100 Super Rugby games across three clubs.
He also savoured everything amateur rugby stands for by playing until he was 40 last year with the famous Randwick Rugby Club in Sydney.
As a Rugby Australia executive, he played a significant role across Marketing, Digital, Media/Communications and Community rugby.
He also understands the player viewpoint as a former president of Australia’s Rugby Union Players’ Association (RUPA).
He is passionate about lifting the entertainment value of rugby for fans by engaging, innovating, thinking outside the box…and playing a winning style.
“Make no mistake, performance and entertainment will drive what we do at the Giltinis so that we will offer some of the best family entertainment in sports available in LA,” Freier said.
Partnering with such an iconic arena as the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is a bold statement of how high Freier wants rugby to fly in one of the great sports cities of the world.
Freier wants the Giltinis to also play a strong role in LA’s established rugby community and help nurture the next generation of American rugby players through youth and development programs.
“Outside of the stadium, what really excites me is the opportunity to play a role in uniting and igniting the rugby community here in Los Angeles,” Freier said.
“We obviously want immediate on-field success but our long-term focus is to have a sustainable flow of high-end rugby talent out of the region.”
