Alana Gattinger, Director of Business Operations

Alana Gattinger is a trailblazer for women in leadership roles in rugby as the first to manage a team at the men’s Rugby World Cup.

She took on the important role for Canada at the 2019 RWC in Japan after her logistical expertise was recognized when assistant manager at the 2015 edition in England.

At the Giltinis, she will channel her experience and skills into the role of Director of Business Operations to maximize the impact of the new club.

Gattinger completed a Masters in Sports Management at the University of Ottawa in 2012 which gave her the grounding for eight years at Rugby Canada in events, logistics, administration, rugby operations and team manager roles.

She’s proud of her groundbreaking RWC role, her key role at the Giltinis and the inspiration this can be for women striving for leadership positions in rugby.
“It’s a testament to Rugby Canada and my country. I am not treated any differently and that’s exactly what I want,” Gattinger said of the RWC position.

“I hope this new role at the Giltinis in MLR also serves as inspiration to young girls that anything is possible for those wanting to do the same thing.”
